One of the main things that makes the AR15 such a popular sporting rifle platform is the fact that it is both versatile and highly modular. Its common pairing with the .223 Remington or 5.56 NATO makes it highly useful for a wide range of sporting and competitive pursuits, and it is a platform that has an extremely large number of interchangeable parts.
