Gyro Compasses have been on ships since WWI and repeaters were stationed to relay master gyro compass headings high in the ship while the master was positioned low inside the hull . These Gyro Compass Repeaters are encased in brass and worked on electrical input. They were found in Navy vessels from Battleships to Submarines. We have a few of these old units with electrical cord and they are sold ‘as is’ and untested, although they look like they are in good shape and the heavy BRASS body and rim will polish up beautifully!
