From Crecy to Pointers as battles go, this helmet adorned the ‘noggins’ of many knights throughout Europe, having evolved from the simple bascinet to the classic pattern that we offer. Greatly inspired by the German ‘Hounds Hood’ Helmet, this version was popular armor in the early 14th into the 15th century. Found regularly in English and French galleries of armor, it was used throughout Europe and especially in Italy. This full adult size steel helmet with brass accents has a ‘gambeson’ head liner with chin cords installed. Really one of the most elegant and iconic helmets of the Medieval period. Display it on one of our helmet stands sold separately, and it will provide a beautiful display piece for your den or ‘man cave’……… or just wear it and empathize with ‘Knights of old’ on just how difficult battle was while wearing the early armor.
