Used throughout Europe as an alternative to carrying a weapon openly in ‘Princely’ courts, and likewise a backup defensive weapon for soldiers or assassins. This iron spike is @8-3/8” long and weighs @2.6 ozs. Prepared on a blacksmith’s hearth, and decoratively given three incremental twists for creating ridges for a positive hold when thrusting or throwing. With a little practice you can become adept at throwing the spike short distances with some accuracy and penetration. With dedicated practice, you can become a ‘competent marksman’ with it at 10 feet and further.
