Denmark’s primary grenade as it headed into WW2 with a whimper, as German forces quickly occupied it. The M23 was a unique style grenade that came in both defensive & offensive versions. Early on in occupation, quantities of these were smuggled out of Jutland and into the hands of the fledgling resistance movement. The use of these grenades against German troops led to the death penalty being implemented for sabotage prosecutions of resistance members. The German Army requisitioned the stores of these grenades and reportedly they were to a large extent, supplied to Army Group Courland on the eastern front. The German Army designated the grenade as Handgranate #342d. Our ‘all metal’ replica is steel with a ‘three piece’ main body like the original, with brass fuze ,middle button, and base cap. Completely Inert.
