Imperial German Egg Grenade, referred to as the ‘EIER grenade’, was a standard for offensive and defensive warfare in the trenches. It had an effective blast and concussion effect and soldiers could carry a lot of these due to their small size and compactness. It was so effective and easy to throw that it led to the creation of the slightly larger WW2 M39 egg grenade. This new made replica is steel with a steel & aluminum screw on fuze. Several types of wire ‘pull’ cords were used. Completely inert and an accurate replica with realistic weight.
