Happy I went with Sarco
There are other reproductions out there, but these packages are a good deal with what you get. My buttstock slid right on- no fighting or filing (1916 commercial export c96), not to mention the pistol fit perfectly inside the stock, like it had been tooled especially for it. I had a small issue and Liz Heisler almost responded immediately to it, to my satisfaction. Great customer experience!

Good choice
Many people complain about having to "fit" their holster stocks to the pistol, needing to file metal away until it fits. Not me, slid in and clicked like one would hope. A little disappointed in some saw/scribe marks that are distracting and a bit ugly, but overall, I would recommend for fit and quality at this price point.

Very pleased with the stock
As mentioned in another review, the interior is roughly hewn, but caused no fitment problems. Then again I do not know if the factory version was rough, so to me it is fine. Now to the freebies. The strippers do not fit into the C96 and are just scrap to me. I am presuming the pouch on the leather holster is for cleaning patches and not clips. It is 1/4" too narrow for clips. Having said all that I am happy with the stock witch is what I primarily wanted.

Decent construction, poor sizing
Well, there are positives and negatives to this product.
Firstly, the wood work and finish is quite nice, the metal work has a good bit more thought put into it than anything else out there at this price point. It's definitely no EBay balsa wonder. The wood is quite solid.
However, the interior woodwork is quite rough, and will need fitting to permit the barrel to fit.
Now for the biggest issue I have with the product. The stripper clips are 8 rounds, as advertised ( I believe they're for the Steyer pistol, but they do work). The problem with this, is that unlike what's depicted in the photo, the harness pouch is sized for these smaller stripper clips, NOT the standard 10 rounders, so you're limited to keeping the 8 rounders in the pouch. On top of that, the pouch is too narrow to permit an eight round clip being kept loaded in the rig. Somewhat defeating the purpose.
All in all, worth the money, but I'll be contacting a local leatherworker to modify the rig.
